The main gauche, French for left-hand, is a specialized parrying dagger that gained popularity in the early 17th century. It was characterized by a wide, usually triangular, knuckle-guard and a longer more robust blade. Our main gauche comes with a historically styled guard and blade suitable for stage combat. It pairs well with any of our rapiers, but is best known as a companion to the cup-hilt. A fantastic addition to any armory but especially for Spanish R&D technique.
