Product Info
Are Rogue Steel blades sharp? Do you make sharp blades?
The short answer is no. All of our weapons are designed and built specifically for stage combat use. We take great care that all of our products are safe for that use and free from any sharp edges or points. We do not currently have any plans to offer sharp blades as an option.
Do your swords come with sheaths/scabbards?
Our products do not come with a sheath or scabbard. Currently we do not offer sheaths, scabbards, or sword belts as a part of our product line. If you are interested in procuring one of these to accompany your Rogue Steel stage combat weapon, we heartily recommend J2 Leatherworks. How do I keep my Rogue Steel weapons from rusting?
The best way to prevent our products from rusting is to keep them clean and apply a light coating of oil to all steel surfaces after each use. Learn more at our Maintenance page.
How do I remove burrs from my Rogue Steel blades?
The easiest way to remove burrs from any edges is with a flat file using a technique called 'draw filing'. Learn more on our Maintenance page.
What's the difference between an Epee and Musketeer blade?
An epee is a standard modern sport fencing blade with a triangle cross section and a deep v-shaped fuller on the underside. A musketeer blade is very similar, but is stronger and less flexible since it has a much more shallow fuller and thus more metal down the spine of the blade. What's the difference between a Musketeer and Schlager blade?
Musketeer blades have a triangular cross section with a wide fuller on the underside. Rogue Steel schlager blades have a diamond shaped cross section and are slightly heavier. Both are strong suitable options for rapier technique. For more details please refer to our Terminology page.

Can I come and see what you have in stock?
Unfortunately, no. We do not have a store front, and rarely have stock on hand. Any items we may have in-stock will be available on our site under the In-Stock page. If you need to arrange for an in-person pick up or drop off, it must be done by appointment only. Please contact us for details.
Do you guarantee your products?
Absolutely! All of our handmade products that require a build-time (including IN-STOCK products) come with a full guarantee against any and all manufacturing defects. Hilts (guard, grip, and pommel) are guaranteed for the LIFE of the product. Blades are guaranteed for 1 year starting on the date of delivery. If you have a warranty question/concern please contact us.
Damage from improper use/abuse as well as natural wear and tear is not covered under warranty.
Exchange/Refund Policy
EXCHANGES
If an item needs to be exchanged (different sized gloves for example), the customer will be responsible for returning the original item to Rogue Steel. Though, we will cover the shipment of the new item. Please contact us at info@roguesteel.com.
RETURNS
Standard item orders that are cancelled before shipment will receive a full refund. For fulfilled orders, cost of shipping will be deducted, and the refund will be made once the unused item has been returned in it's original state. Refunds will post to the card originally used to make the purchase in three to five business days. If paid by check, refund will be mailed to billing address on file.

Why does it take so long to receive my order?
While build times do vary a bit, it takes us on average about 12 weeks from the time an order is confirmed until it can be completed. The vast majority of our product line is hand built from start to finish. That process naturally takes more time, but allows us to give our customers a wider range of products and customization as a standard. Even though we have a small team (just five people), our build time is actually one of the shorter and most reliable in this industry. We take pride in being one of the only producers of stage combat weapons available to the public that can reliably fulfill any size order within a reasonable time frame.
If you have any specific deadlines, please let us know! We are happy to make accommodations when possible. Though, please note that all expedited orders will incur an associated rush fee.
Can I expedite my order?
Yes. Even though our build schedule is around 12 weeks, we always strive to meet our customers deadlines when we can. For orders needed in under 12 weeks there is a 10% rush fee. For 2 - 4 weeks the rush fee is 15%, and for under 2 weeks the rush fee is 20%. Beyond that we can also provide cost estimates for expedited shipping as well if necessary, just let us know.
If you need to have an order expedited, please contact us at info@roguesteel.com. We do our best to meet all deadlines, but we can't guarantee that all orders will be eligible for a rush delivery.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! Orders outside the US can be made through our site as normal. If you have any questions or concerns about shipping, we recommend you contact us in advance with your order information. We can accommodate some specific shipping methods upon request or help determine the best options based upon your location.
An additional customs and tax fee can occur on international orders. This fee is not in our control and is assessed by your local customs office. Customs policies vary widely for every country so please check with your local customs office directly to see if they apply duties and taxes to your purchases.

On average, current orders take a minimum 12 weeks to be completed. Large or custom orders may take longer. (Due to global supply chain delays, many orders are taking longer than usual to fulfill) Though, if you have a specific deadline, we will do our best to accommodate it. Simply contact us to verify your timeline and we'll assess any associated rush fee upon verification.
In-Stock items such as gauntlets, gloves, bags, and embroidered t-shirts are usually fulfilled within 48 business hours. If your order contains a mix of in-stock and other products, all items will ship together once everything is completed.
Ready-Stocked items such as single swords are usually fulfilled within 2 weeks. If your order contains a mix of ready-stocked and other products, all items will ship together once everything is completed.
Rogue Merch/Apparel items are usually fulfilled within 3-7 business days. All Rogue Merch items ship directly from our manufacturers. Please see our merch/apparel policy for full details.
Backordered products are items that have parts or supplies currently out of stock, but are expected from resupply shipments. These items will ship within their associated fulfillment times once restocked. (Please be aware that global supply chains are backed up and everything is taking longer than usual)

Payments
Can I buy a Gift Certificate?
Absolutely! We offer digital gift certificates in a broad range of value. Multiple gift cards can be purchased to reach a specific value. Multiple cards can be redeemed on a single order. Gift Cards are not subject to any taxes or fees and never expire. They will be delivered to the purchaser by email with instructions for use. You can find them for sale in our store.
Do you accept Purchase Orders?
Yes! We work with purchase orders on a frequent basis and we've tried to streamline your experience to be as simple as possible.
All you have to do is shop on our site normally and submit an order using the Purchase Order payment gateway at checkout. You will then receive your order details by email to submit for a PO number. Once the PO number is generated either reply to your order confirmation email with the details or reach out to us at info@roguesteel.com. Your order will then be placed on our build schedule.
If you need an estimate to submit for your PO or have custom requests for your order, please contact us. We will be happy to work with you to create a customized official quote.
My theatre/school/organization is tax exempt. Can I place an order and not be charged sales tax?
Yes! Currently any US based customer outside the state of Illinois does not get charged sales tax by default. If you are located in Illinois, please contact us either through the site or at info@roguesteel.com with a copy of your tax exempt form. We'll be happy to create a custom order invoice for you!
